About

Who We Are

AIWT (Australian Institute of Workplace Training) is based in Perth, Western Australia. AIWT is a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that delivers quality courses both to international and domestic students. We have been educating and training both domestic and international students since 2003. At AIWT, we expect our students not just to learn, but also grow.

Our courses are tailored to our students, ensuring that they receive the best training and that they are ready to face any challenge in the future. Our journey as a recognised education leader began with Early Childhood, School Age and Vacation Care and Education Support. Our long history has allowed us to build strong industry links within WA and beyond.

In recent years, AIWT has added quality course programs in Work Health and Safety, Leadership & Management and Community Sector Management to allow students to further their education or specialise in a specific field of study. Most recently, we have added Translation and Interpreting to our course offerings. Specialising in Mandarin/English, we have established an inspirational and industry experienced training team of NAATI accredited Interpreters and Translators.

We constantly work with industries so we always have a finger on the pulse of the economy. We need to know what businesses want, currently and in the future, so we can prepare our students to be in ready and in demand to meet those needs.

Support is also always available to students. We understand how difficult it can be to be away from home, changing careers, working and studying at the same time or any of the many curveballs that life throws at us. Our students are part of our family, and we are here for them.

In 2017, AIWT enjoyed a burst of new energy, with the introduction of a new owner and management. New strategies were put in place, however, our dream remains the same and to accomplish these dreams, we have recognised our Vision to be:

Vision

To be a genuine provider, delivering skilled and confident human resources to the workforce.

Whether you are new to the workforce, returning to it, or upskilling or just changing your career – we understand that our students’ careers and futures are in our hands and therefore it is crucial that we provide our students with the best training possible. This includes:

We believe these can be achieved by abiding by our values of:

Values

Genuine, Passionate and Progressive

And we are continuing to grow. We believe in continuous improvement and we are ourselves constantly learning and developing to ensure we continue to be the best we can be, for our students.

We take pride in providing an environment where students not only learn but grow. Having a culturally diverse community and a family-oriented atmosphere means our students, and staff, have the opportunity to learn and inspire each other through our many backgrounds and experiences. And they can do so in a safe and comfortable environment.

We are committed to preparing our students to be confident and capable, in whatever choice of a path they choose to take. We want every student to look back after graduation and contribute some of their successes to the time they have spent with AIWT.

A message from our CEO

Yvonne Yeo, CEO

Welcome to AIWT! It is a pleasure and an honour to introduce myself as the CEO of AIWT. AIWT has a team of dedicated, industry experienced trainers/assessors and a highly skilled administration team to support your students from enquiry to graduation, and beyond!

Traditional views place vocational training as a second choice if a university pathway is not achievable. What most parents and students don’t realise is that vocational graduates enjoy a much higher employability rate than university graduates, and such artisan jobs will long remain beyond most computer-replaced university graduate roles.

And let’s not forget that we are all built differently. Many students find their passion and calling, and eventually a successful career, in an artisan skill rather than in books. What could be more miserable than struggling to find a job in a career that you have no passion for?

And that is our focus at AIWT. The end goal: EMPLOYABILITY.

We aim to prepare our students to find a job as soon as they graduate, if not sooner. And we do that by focusing on the individual and working together to ensure a smooth learning journey. We provide personalised support and counselling, quality learning environment, flexible learning options and exposure to industry and work placement to apply theory into practice. We also work very hard with employers and industry experts, to ensure that our students are equipped with what is relevant to industry, therefore increasing their employability.

At AIWT, we enjoy a very diverse and culturally rich community. The more different we seem, the more we realise how alike we essentially are. And we harness the positivity of these differences to challenge the norm and bring new ideas and vibrancy to our campus.

Together, guided by our values – to be genuine, passionate and progressive – we believe our students will be prepared for tomorrow.

Come and be part of AIWT. I look forward to meeting you soon.
